Without a doubt, “Onaapo” (literally meaning, you won’t get it) has become the unofficial anthem of 2016.
The song, which was one of the NDC’s camapign songs, was popular but it has exploded since President Mahama lost the elections and NPP supporters danced to it as their victory song.
Since then, Onaapo has been the go to song at weddings, parties and other events. The face behind the song, DeeAja, has also started mounting stages to perform the song, with one of the most recent ones being his electrifying performance at the 2016 Jigwe Awards.
The sensational performer, DeeAja, whose real name is David Aja tells Viasat 1 Entertainment that he is excited the song has “reconciled Ghanaians” after a rather intense electoral season.
“Then NDC, the NPP and every other person is enjoying the song. Not only are they enjoying the song, it is also reconciling Ghanaians and i am overwhelmed about the response as well as the waves the song is making across the country, especially after the elections.”
as often the case when certain songs suddenly become popular, controversy erupted over who composed the song some weeks ago but it has now been established that Onaapo was written and composed by composer and musician Nacee, though DeeAja is the face of the song.

DeeAja also revealed that Nacee is a very good composer and he “finds it an honour to be associated with him and his music.”
DeeAja has disclosed that he is set to release another hit track in the coming year also from the camp of Nacee.S
