Ikon Shepherd a songwriter and a model born and raised in West Africa, Ghana has come up with a photograph album Return To Africa. An album that paints pictures and tells stories of our rich heritage and many more. The project is unique in its own way by capturing in medium pixels and different looks to show the struggles of a certain living, it also talks about Art and Events that his country ( Ghana ) is having.
Ikon Shepherd said the main idea of this project is to help the diasporans discover the beautiful image and culture we have in Africa, so they can also have some memories of coming into the continent and stay connect and always wanting to return and support. Because some white folks think Africa is a jungle and he can change that perception through this body of works for global consumption. After the release of this project, African Americans can boldly wear things made from Africa and know how to blend the Western culture with African influence attach to it to suit any community that they go to. So people can start patronizing things made from here and our local creatives can also start to cash out some money for their families to make a good living for themselves. That’s all the album is talking about, get it and let’s support Africa.
